Welcome to Kilrush Projects, a space to dream, deliberate and plan Kilrush’s future.

All of this started back in 2019 at a CLDC & LEADER supported public meeting where the people of Kilrush exchanged ideas and visions for their town. Out of that meeting emerged a number of brainstorming groups which between them created some 120 project ideas, all with the goal to make Kilrush a more attractive town for both residents and visitors.

Since then, and despite the Covid-19 pandemic, many of these project ideas have been realised. This website features a selection of these projects, some have been already completed, others are in planning or in progress and others are just ideas that wait for a team to develop them further.

To make finding your way around the projects easier the individual projects have been grouped by location (Kilrush Town Centre, Kilrush Active, Cappa, Vandeleur Wood and Other) and area of interest (community, tourism, natural & built heritage, sports, infrastructure, marketing) and colour coded to mark the status of the project:

• PROJECT COMPLETED: Project is complete

• PROJECT IN PROGRESS: Project is underway

• PROJECT IN PLANNING: Project is almost ready to be implemented

• PROJECT IN IDEATION: Project is in early stages of development
