Community Owned Arts & Crafts Space

PROJECT DESCRIPTION

This project would develop a space for artists and craftworkers to produce and sell their work and run workshops, similar to Spiddal Craft Village in County Galway (https://www.spiddalcrafts.com/).

PROJECT JUSTIFICATION & OBJECTIVES

A dedicated arts & crafts space in Kilrush would have several benefits for the town:

• It would provide local artists & craftworkers with an opportunity to showcase and sell their work and connect with the community and with each other.

• Workshops and courses and the subsequent engagement with arts and crafts would benefit the mental health of participants.

• An arts & crafts space would attract visitors and grow the revenue stream from tourism.
