Faces of Kilrush

PROJECT DESCRIPTION

This project seeks to collect life stories and experiences from Kilrush residents from all walks of life, backgrounds and ages. These stories will be presented in an exhibition (indoor or outdoor throughout the town) and a possible book and/or website.

The stories could either be collected anonymously or feature the individual’s name and portrait photograph. 

PROJECT JUSTIFICATION & OBJECTIVES

Like all towns Kilrush is made up from a variety of communities. Often these communities exist beside each other instead of with each other. This project aims to bring these communities closer together by providing a platform to voice their experiences, their perception of Kilrush, their struggles, hopes and dreams. This will lead to a better mutual understanding and subsequently strengthen community cohesion which is vital for the inclusive development of the town.
