John Paul Estate (JPE) Centre

PROJECT DESCRIPTION

The JPE community centre has been closed for a number of years. This project seeks to explore the viability of reopening the building, in which format and for what purpose and how to integrate the centre into the wider community in order for it to benefit Kilrush's overall community vitality and cohesion.

There are possibilities to link this with Glebe House which features among other things a fully commercial kitchen.

PROJECT JUSTIFICATION & OBJECTIVES

The building formerly housing the JPE community centre is laying empty despite the desire from the community to reopen the building for local activities. Therefor it is relevant to explore the viability of reopening the building and identifying anchor tenants to assist in the running of activities.
