Kilrush - Plouzane Twinning

PROJECT DESCRIPTION

This project seeks to revitalise the 40-year-old twinning between Kilrush and Plouzane (Brittany, France) and explore new ways of engaging with each other and working together for mutual benefit.

PROJECT JUSTIFICATION & OBJECTIVES

With France being Irelands closest EU neighbour the time to reignite the twinning has never been more appropriate.

The project will rebuild old connections and build new relationships for mutual benefit. It is being envisaged that the renewed efforts will be especially beneficial for the planned Kilrush Maritime Training Centre and would open opportunities for cooperation with the European Institute for Marine Studies (https://www-iuem.univ-brest.fr/) which is located in Plouzanne.
