Kilrush Sustainability Plan

PROJECT DESCRIPTION

The Kilrush Sustainability Plan works to create a Kilrush that has a thriving local economy, a strong sense of community, is culturally vibrant and inclusive and is built upon respect for the environment. To achieve this the plan suggests 10 objectives and 84 actions to reach these objectives (see complete Sustainability Plan below). 

PROJECT JUSTIFICATION & OBJECTIVES

Making our lives more sustainable is in everybody’s interest. The Kilrush sustainability plan aims to make Kilrush Ireland’s most sustainable town by 2025. To reach this goal the plan focuses on the following points:

• Educate the people, businesses and organisations of Kilrush on sustainability

• Establish the vision for a sustainable future for Kilrush

• Identify the sustainability priorities of the people, businesses and organisations of Kilrush

• Promote the key sustainability achievements of Kilrush

• Determine sustainability objectives required to make Kilrush’s vision for a sustainable future a reality

• Support public and private partnerships, support and investment in sustainability projects in Kilrush

• Position Kilrush as a sustainable place to live, work and visit
