Kilrush Town Train

PROJECT DESCRIPTION

This project seeks to develop sustainable town transport for both tourists and residents. It envisages a preferably electric/solar powered road train or trains which will be used to create a tourist site-seeing route with several jump-on and -off stops within the town. The train could also be used to provide a direct link between tourist attractions, e.g. West Coast Aquapark to Vandeleur Walled Garden. During the off-season the train could serve as in-town shuttle bus and to connect the estates and Cappa with the town centre. This project could be developed in conjunction with Additional Parking Kilrush.

PROJECT JUSTIFICATION & OBJECTIVES

This project would be a unique addition to the town and serve both visitors and residents alike. It would be a visitor attraction in its own right while at the same time enhance the quality of life for Kilrush residents, support town centre businesses and reduce car traffic in the town centre.
