Kilrush Volunteer Hub

PROJECT DESCRIPTION

This project seeks to set up a hub for volunteers in Kilrush to service the wider Kilrush area. This would include creating a training space and training courses to prepare volunteers for a variety of roles as well as a setting up a network of experienced & new volunteers and organisations & clubs that rely on volunteers.

PROJECT JUSTIFICATION & OBJECTIVES

Volunteering has a long tradition in Ireland, especially in rural areas. While volunteering organisations already exist (e.g., Clare Volunteer Centre) a local equivalent would be better suited to meet the requirements of the wider Kilrush area by matching and training volunteers for specific areas (e.g., sports, youth work, etc.).
