Kilrush Wood Access Enhancement

PROJECT DESCRIPTION

The project seeks to improve the physical infrastructure of Kilrush Woods, specifically the gated entrance on the Kildysart road. This will include making access to the woodland easier and carrying out repair works on the existing stone wall.

This project provides the opportunity to involve the immediate local community by providing training/guidance in stone wall construction & repair.

PROJECT JUSTIFICATION & OBJECTIVES

The area around the Kildysart Road entrance to Kilrush Woods has become neglected and sees the regular occurrence of fly tipping.

This project will improve access to Kilrush Woods and subsequently enhance the surrounding areas which will make it more attractive for residents and visitors alike.

Actively including local residents would strengthen social cohesion, community spirit and pride of place.
