Restoration of Manchester Martyrs

PROJECT DESCRIPTION

This project explored the viability of restoring the Manchester Martyrs monument and subsequently planned and implemented the restoration work.

The project was delivered in 3 stages:

• Restoration of stone and metal

• Lighting upgrade

• Public realm works

PROJECT JUSTIFICATION & OBJECTIVES

The harsh coastal environment of the area has had a significant impact on the landmark limestone monument that dominates Kilrush's town centre. Both the limestone and metal railing showed signs of damage and were in need of restoration.
