Kilrush MUGA (Multi-Use-Games-Area)

PROJECT DESCRIPTION

The project seeks to develop the disused and dilapidated tarmac tennis courts at Kilrush Active by turning them into to a Multi-Use Games Area (MUGA). This could include play areas for basketball, handball and similar sports and activities.

This could be part of a wider Kilrush Active Rejuvenation project.

PROJECT JUSTIFICATION & OBJECTIVES

The existing tarmac tennis court is unused and overgrown.

A redevelopment would offer opportunities for currently disadvantaged sports and sport clubs, e.g. Kilrush Basketball Club, and provide additional training and leisure facilities.

This would not only have a positive impact on physical and mental health but could also further Kilrush's reputation as a centre for sports.
